· The ECBA is an international federation of non-profit organisations in EU countries, promoting economic and trade relations between European enterprises and Chinese counterparts. It is registered in Belgium.
· The ECBA currently has 15 participating organisations in 14 European countries.
These organisations have a combined membership of over 2.000 companies; large, medium, and small in all branches of industry, commerce and the service sector. Each plays a leading role in its respective country, promoting business with China.
· The ECBA supports the China business interests of its members and acts as a channel of communication with the European Commission on EU-China economic and trade related issues. It also maintains a relationship with official Chinese representatives in Brussels and the EUCCC.
· The ECBA adds value to the work of its members by presenting a European dimension to individual EU countries’ business relationship with China.
Objectives and work of the ECBA
· The ECBA aims to add value to the work of its members’ national China business organisations by promoting European business with all sectors of the Chinese economy. Its work is complementary to the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) and UNICE, facilitating contacts between the European business community and China. It focuses on small and medium-sized enterprises (SME's).
· The ECBA aims to facilitate exchange of information, views and experiences among its member organisations and to assist the promotion of common objectives in the China market.
· The ECBA aims to arrange events at the European level to promote its members’ China business interests.
· The ECBA facilitates visits of Chinese delegations to EU-member states.
· The ECBA organises visits and missions to China providing them increased impact through the European scope of the activity.
· The ECBA cooperates closely with the EU Commission, EUCCC, UNICE and other European organisations to deliver support to its members and promote growth of EU-China business.
